This 1.5 mile trail is named for and dedicated to Frances Schrader, a longtime employee of the Forest Service. Some of the Northwest's largest hardwoods and old-growth Douglas fir trees are found on this short loop trail. More than 22 species of plants, shrubs, and trees can be seen along this trail. Enjoy solitude, wildflower viewing, picnicking, and interpretive opportunities. Contact the Gold Beach Ranger District for more information or directions.
To find the trail, take Jerry's Flat Road to the Siskiyou National Forest boundary at Lobster Creek Campground and turn right on Forest Road 3300090. Continue for exactly two miles and you will find the trailhead at the right, where you can pick up a brochure about what you will see.
